A recognized charity, Trees for Life strives to restore the wildness of the Scottish Highlands. Now reduced to roughly 2% of its original extent, the Caledonian Forest once covered a considerable portion of Scotland’s Highlands as extensive stands of stately Scots pine, intermingled with birch, rowan, juniper, and aspen trees.
A Scottish nonprofit organization called Trees for Life is dedicated to rewilding the Highlands and bringing about significant environmental change. The nonprofit aims to revitalize entire ecosystems while concentrating on recovering the once-extensive Caledonian forest.
