Since Jim Goode first opened his barbecue restaurant in 1977, filling the air with the heady scent of mesquite, our goal has been to spread and conserve a way of life that pays tribute to the rich blending of cultures and culinary traditions that characterize this enormous backyard of ours: the salt of the Gulf.
With very little money and no prior restaurant expertise, we started converting an outdated barn-style restaurant into our first real establishment. What Texas barbecue should be, in our opinion, is created to order, fresh food at a fair price, and pleasing food. Here, we put in a lot of effort, are proud of what we accomplish, and strive to be the best. We make sure there are lots of opportunities to grow and celebrate, as well as sharing laughs and lessons learned from one another.
