The Finnish Kone Corporation was born Konecranes. Its origins can be traced to 1933 when Kone started manufacturing Electric Overhead Traveling Cranes. The crane industry was merged into the KONE Cranes Division in 1988. Until 1994, the KONE Cranes Division was an essential part of Kone.
