When Lanes Group was founded in Leeds in 1992, they only had five employees and specialized in drain cleaning and maintenance. The group’s claims handling business, Lanes Assistance Services, was the focus of a £12 million management buyout in 2010 that was supported by the private equity firm Gresham.
