The Old North State League welcomes the River City Skippers as their newest member. The Skippers held their inaugural season in the summer of 2023 in Knobbs Creek Park, which is situated along the banks of Knobbs Creek.
Originating from Elizabeth City, also referred to as the Harbor of Hospitality, the Skippers mascot draws inspiration from the town’s unique coastal culture and its proximity to the Coast Guard station. The name “Skipper” will also be familiar to ball players, as they frequently use it to describe their leaders and coaches. The Skippers want to visit Elizabeth City and make a positive impact on the amazing community. The Old North State League’s River City Skippers are a summer collegiate woodbat baseball club. The months of May, June, and July are when the Skippers play.
