Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and versatile Mechanical / Electrical Technician to join our Operations & Maintenance team. This role is responsible for the daily hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical water treatment systems, including Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, water softeners, and UV disinfection facilities.
A significant portion of this role involves servicing medical and hospital environments, requiring a high level of reliability, attention to hygiene standards, and the ability to maintain critical ultrapure water systems without disrupting facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on all mechanical and electrical components (pumps, valves, blowers, dosing systems, and control panels).
System Troubleshooting: Swiftly diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns and electrical faults to minimize system downtime.
Specialized Water Treatment Operations: Execute Clean-in-Place (CIP) chemical cleaning procedures for RO membranes, recharge/backwash water softeners, and replace UV lamps and quartz sleeves.
2. Hospital & Medical Facility Compliance
Ultrapure Water Oversight: Monitor, maintain, and log parameters for medical-grade and ultrapure water systems, ensuring strict compliance with hospital and healthcare water quality standards.
Safety & Hygiene: Adhere to rigorous infection control, health, safety, and environmental standards required when working inside active medical facilities and wastewater plants.
3. Site Logs & Reporting
Data Tracking: Maintain accurate daily logs of water quality parameters, chemical consumption, pressure differentials, and maintenance work orders.
Team Coordination: Work closely with the O&M Engineer / Coordinator to report site conditions, spare parts requirements, and potential operational risks.
Requirements:
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 3–5+ years of hands-on technical experience maintaining water treatment systems (RO, STP, Softeners, UV) with clear exposure to medical, hospital, or pharmaceutical environments.
Education/Certification: Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent trade experience).
Technical Competencies:
Electrical: Ability to read electrical drawings, troubleshoot control circuits, test relays, and work safely with 3-phase power, motors, and PLC panels.
Mechanical: Strong plumbing, piping, and mechanical repair skills (shaft alignments, seal replacements, pump overhauls).
Process: Solid understanding of CIP protocols and water softening cycles.
Attributes: High reliability, disciplined adherence to safety protocols, and a clean, professional demeanor suitable for customer-facing medical environments.
Availability: Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service responses.
Salary:
QAR 1,200 to 2,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
